Hagar Shachal, multidisciplinary artist contemporary dancer and performer.

With over 15 years of experience in movement, she spent nine of those years dancing professionally with the renowned Vertigo and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Companies, where she became a lead performer and participated in the creation and performance of numerous works on international stages such as the Sydney Opera House and Baryshnikov Arts Center etc.

Throughout her creative journey, the body has always been her first and most prominent language. During her years as a professional dancer, she became increasingly attuned to the power of other forms of expression and the symbiotic, supportive relationship between mediums. She remains in awe of the body—its wisdom, its depth, and the soul it carries within. Every moment is an invitation to explore this expressive world, both the visible surface and the inner layers hidden from view.

Driven by a deep need for creative expression, Hagar’s practice has evolved to include a range of mediums—painting, photography, poetry, videography, and more. Her work explores vulnerability, emotion, and the connection between the physical and the abstract. Through each form, she seeks to capture the intangible and bring raw human experience to the surface.
