Hagar Shachal
Multidisciplinary artist, contemporary dancer, and performer.
With over 15 years of experience in movement, she spent nine years performing with the renowned Vertigo and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Companies, rising to lead performer and contributing to works presented on international stages including the Sydney Opera House and the Baryshnikov Arts Center.
For Hagar, the body has always been the primary language of expression, revealing the profound connection between movement and other art forms. Over time, her practice has expanded to painting, photography, writing, and videography, with dance continually evolving shifting form and weaving into new artistic languages.
The body remains both starting point and lens for her work, informing and inspiring each medium and allowing her to translate movement into diverse forms while maintaining a coherent language of expression.
